EYE: Total number screened: 502 out of 542 Cataract recommended: 28 nos. (Sankara Eye Hospital have taken the patients to their hospital for surgery and surgery carried out on Monday (19.02.2024) and patients back on Wednesday (21.02.2024) to TPO premises. Spectacles recommended: 285 Numbers - the same distributed at TIL factory premises on 29.02.2024 (Saturday) at 4.00 p.m. Dental:
Physiotherapy:One hunred twenty fourpatients have taken treatment. Diabetic Sugar Test carried out for One Hundred and sixty fourpatients. ECG carried forFifty One patients Cancer Detection: Three cases diagnosed orally, blood samples taken for Biopsy. Mementos and Certificates: Mementos and certificates were issued to Doctors and Volunteers. All are very happy especially our volunteers have expressed their happiness and pleasure in doing this Noble Service. Mr. KVV & Mr. M. Ravi personally congratulated all volunteers for their marvelous work. MEGA MEDICAL CAMP IN CHENNAI ON 28TH AUG 2023 IN ASSOCIATION WITH TABLETS INDIA LIMITED CHENNAI In memory of Shri. R. S. Jhaver (Babuji) Founder of Tablets (India) Limited, conducted Fourth Health Camp on 26th August 2023 at Captain Mahal, Chennai – 600 081. (Adjacent to our factory) between 8.00 a.m. and 3.00 p.m. Pooja for Eye division performed at 8.45 a.m. and lighted Kuthuvillakku by Mr.KVV, Mr. Sasikanth (vHELP Social Foundation) Dr. Venkataraman (Sankara EYE Hospital), Dr. T. Vasmiya and VS. Registration started at 8.00 a.m. Patients are started coming from 7.00 a.m. onwards and they were asked to accommodate in the seats provided for them in the entrance. Seating arrangements at the Ground floor for the Patients (Dental, General, Physiotherapy, Echogram, Sugar test and ECG. Separate registration stall for eye checkup. Placed the Pharmacy dispensing at the podium. Dispensing is arranged in such a way that easy accessible for the volunteers to handle the patients for disbursement of medicines 1. General Doctors Dr. V. T. Pugazhandhi, Dr. R. Joe David, Dr. A. Jency Mary rendered their valuable services. 2. Arranged two Pediatricians namely Dr. N. Arunprasath from Govt. Multispecialty Hospital and Dr. Shifamon from RAINY HOSPITAL. 3. Dr. K. Bargavi and her team (Physiotherapist) have rendered their magnificent service very nicely. 4. Teams of Doctors from ‘Pammal Sankara Eye Hospital’ and Raagas Dental College have taken care of Eye and Dental Treatment Respectively. Separate set of trained persons to take care of the Blood sugar testing and ECG from KVT Hospital 5. Dr. J. Vinothini Cardiologist from Hearts for Hearts done “Echogram” 6. Humanitarian Outreach Initiative Foundation arranged for Mini mobile van to test Tuberculosis for 51 persons. We have made arrangement for Breakfast and coffee from outside and provided Lunch for Medical teams, Volunteers and Cataract patients from Annathanam Centre – TPO and served at Camp Site. Tuberculosis 51 Total 993 (901 treatment taken + 92 not turned up) EYE: Total number screened: 436 out of 528 Cataract Surgery recommended: 21 Patients (They have taken the patients to their hospital for Cataract surgery and surgery will be carried out on Monday (28.08.2023) and will be expected to back on Wednesday (30.08.23) to TPO. Spectacles recommended: 266 Numbers - the same will be distributed at our factory premises on 09.09.2023 Saturday at 4.00 p.m. Dental screened: 92 Nos. Number of persons treated: 59 Scaling Done: 24 Nos. Restoration: 29 Nos. Extraction: 6 Nos Physiotherapy: Eighty patients have taken treatment in Physiotherapy. Sugar Test carried for Two Hundred and Eleven patients. ECG: 44 Patients ECHOGRAM carried for Thirty one patients Tuberculosis: Fifty one Persons. Project No.1 In memory of Shri R.S. Jhaver (Babuji) Founder of Tablets (India) Limited, Fifteenth Blood camp was conducted at Tablets (India) Limited, 179, T.H. Road, Tondiarpet, Chennai 600 081, on 22.08.2022 between 9.30 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. in association with vHELP Social Foundation (Regd). Mr. M. Ravi Director - works has inaugurated the programme and donated blood as first person. R. Thiruvengadam Joint Managing Director and Mr. M. Mathavanunni have visited the camp. Mr. V. Sekar GM – Personnel has Volunteered with few more other staff to coordinate the event. Lion’s Club has organized for the Mini Mobile Van (Two seats) with unit of Doctor and four Assistants. Dr. Viswamanikkam from MRO visited the camp. Employees numbering 31 have donated blood in this Noble Cause. Actually 43 persons have come forward but due to low Hemoglobin count, 12 persons were rejected. Project No.2 Organised a blood donation camp at Karambakkam Elementary School, near Porur, Chennai. Total units of blood collected: 35 Lions Blood Bank provided the necessary assistance and collected the blood. Ln T.J. George - Chairman Blood bank, Egmore inaugurated the function, in the presence of the local Panchayath President, Mr. Anbazhagan. Project No. 3 Beneficiary: An old women, Mrs. Srimathi, Bharathi Nagar,Chennai who underwent surgery was provided with blood. The project was organized by Mr. Murarli a resident of Sabari Nagar, Chennai. Project No.4 Beneficiaries: The SEBI staff and their family members, including children - the first dose of vaccination. Project No.5 Blood Donation Camp Venue: Arumbakkam Corporation School No.2, ChennaiTotal units collected: 70 The Egmore Maternity Hospital collected the blood and issued Rs.25000 worth insurance coverage to the donors. BLOOD DONATION CAMPS 2006 Project No: 8 17-9-2006 at Ambattur OT, Chennai Congress Leader Krishnaswamy inaugurated the event. 26 units were collected. The event was supported by Lions Blood Bank, Egmore, Chennai 10 Dec 06 at Ullagaram, Chennai 23 units collected by Lions Blood Bank. The camp was organized by HELP Charitable Trust, and LC of Harmony alongwith VEEDS (Leelavathy). Project No: 9 21 Dec 06 at Raagas Dental College 103 units collected by Lions Blood Bank. CATARACT SURGERY AND SUPPLY OF SPECTACLES PROJECTS

Project No.1 Beneficiaries: Two handicapped old women from Pondicherry were brought to Chennai and organized cataract surgery at Lions Cataract Centre, chennai. The suery was successful and they were sent home later. The project was sponsored by Mr. K B Ramachandran, Virugambakkam, Chennai. Project No.2 Project: Distribution of free spectacles75 persons were given spectacles. The function was inaugurated by Mr.P S Palani, Ex-Panchayath President, Moulivakkam in presence of Mr. Siva Prabhu, the Porur Voice daily editor.
Over 135 spectacles were issued to the villagers, and the function was inaguruated by MJF Lion A V Kumaresan at Karambakkam on 10th Sept 2000 in presence of the Karambakkam Panchayath President, Mr. Anbazhakan, Ln Sakthivel, MJF Lion Sivasankaran and others.

Project No. 1 Project: Assistance to a handicapped women in Mugalivakkam village Offered a sewing machine to Kavitha, a handicapped women in the Mugalivakkam village, Porur, Chennai 116 for her livelihood. The machine was handed over in presence of Mr.Ravichandran, Mugalivakkam Panchayath Ward member. A Tri-cycle was also offered to a handicapped person in Mugalivakkam, Porur, Chennai 116 on the same day in presence of Mr.Ravichandran, Mugalivakkam Panchayath Ward member.
Assistance provided to Mr.Krishnan Nair to carry out Cancer surgery, and a cash assistance of Rs.5000 was spent on this account. He was operated in TVM Medical College and now is improving his health.

Project No: 1 A Medical Camp was held on January 2000 in Perumbalur village, Chennai. EYE-Screening: Under direct supervision of Sankara Eye Hospital - over 250 people were screened. 15 patients were identified for Cataract. 75 patients were identified for Spectacles. General Health Check-up: 225 patients benefited by this camp. Conducted under the supervision of Meenakshi Dental College - 125 persons were benefited.
Details: In association with Lions Club of Harmony, organised an eye screening camp in Kolathur. Egmore Eye Hospital provided assistance and shortlisted patients were taken over for cataract by them. Over 200 persons were benefitted out of this camp. Project No.3 EYE-Screening: Under direct supervision of Madras Egmore Eye Hospital - over 450 people were screened. 17 patients were identified for Cataract. 115 patients were identified for Spectacles. General Health Check-up: Under the Chairmanship of Dr.S.Radhakrishnan and team, 525 patients benefited by this camp. Free medicines were distributed to all patients. DENTAL CHECK-UP: Conducted under the supervision of Meenakshi Dental College - 213 persons were benefited. MJF Ln NR Dhanapalan inaugurated the camp in presence of Ln V Sivasankaran, Ln Baby J Vadacherry, Ln S Sreekumar, MJF Ln K Sankar and others.
Out of the eye-screening held in August, 17 persons were admitted at Sankara Nethralaya for cataract surgery.
EYE-Screening: Under direct supervision of Madras Egmore Eye Hospital - over 325 people were screened. 25 patients were identified for Cataract. 75 patients were identified for Spectacles. General Health Check-up: Under the Chairmanship of Dr.S.Radhakrishnan and team, 460 patients benefited by this camp. DENTAL CHECK-UP: Conducted under the supervision of Meenakshi Dental College - 123 persons were benefited.
Project No.7 EYE-Screening: Under direct supervision of Madras Egmore Eye Hospital - over 265 people were screened. 13 patients were identified for Cataract. 67 patients were identified for Spectacles. General Health Check-up: Under the Chairmanship of Dr.S.Radhakrishnan and team, 650 patients benefited by this camp. DENTAL CHECK-UP: Conducted under the supervision of Meenakshi Dental College - 325 persons were benefited.

Project No: 16 Date: Sept 2005 Place: KKR Township, Madhavaram, Chennai Event: Eye Camp In association with Udhi Eye Hospital, Chennai, have organized a Cateract surgery camp in which over 200 persons were screened, out of which 11 persons were taken for surgery on the same day, and another 10 people were issued surgery cards, to get admitted at a later date. Project No: 17 Date: Dec 2005 Place: Maduravoyal, Poonamallee High Road, Chennai Event: Eye Camp Under the leadership of Mr. Logathan, social worker in the area, we have organized an Eye Camp. The camp was inaugurated by the Councilor, Local Panchayath Board.The camp was supported by Udhi Eye Hospital team.Over 150 persons were screened in the camp, and over 20 persons were shortlisted for Cateract, of which 12 persons were taken for admission on the same day. Project No: 18 Date: 28 August 2005 Place: Nochikuppam, Marina, Chennai Event: Medical camp (1) Eye camp (2) Accupuncture In association with Annai Trust, and local volunteers of AMMA, we have organized a health camp in the Tsunami affected place – Nochikupam. The event was inaugurated by the local Panchayath Councillor, in presence of diginitories like Mr. Sridhar, Mr. Ganesan, Kangaria Trust MD etc.Udhi Eye Hospital associated for eye related issues, while Dr. Raju carried out Accupuncture events. Over 400 persons were screened in this event for eye problems. 7 persons were available to be transported to Udhi Hospital for cateract immediately. Other shortlisted cateract patients were issued Surgery Card to get admitted at a later date. Over 30 persons were screened by Dr Raju for various ailments and offered Accupuncture treatment. World Service Day Project No: 19 Date: 8 OCT 2005 Place: GKM Colony, Villivakkam, Chennai Event: Mega Health camp In association with Lions Club of Golden Jubilee, we have organized a mega health camp in Villivakkam on the World Service Day. Udhi Hospital participated for Eye related treatment, while Dental was handled by Raagas Dental Hospital. A group of General doctors from the local area assisted for General check up. The camp was inaugurated by Rev Father St.John De Britto Church in presence of Lions Club members and other dignitaries. 6 persons were transported for cateract surgery on the same day as first batch, and their surgery was carried out on the same day and discharged on the next day, 9th Oct 05. On 8th Oct 2005, in association with Mr. Sridhar, social activitist for Tsunami, we have done following project in Nochikuppam, Chennai (one of the Tsunami affected places) 1. Supply of specs: Supplied 54 specs, who are shortlisted during 28th August 05 camp in Nochikuppam. Local Councillor distributed the specs in the presence of other diginitories. Financial assistance for the purchase of specs were provided by Kangaria Trust and Annai Educational Trust in addition to HELP Charitable Trust. 2. Supply of uniform to the Tsunami affected school children. Over 200 children were benefited from Nochikuppam area. Financial assistance for the purchase of specs were provided by Kangaria Trust and Annai Educational Trust in addition to HELP Charitable Trust. On 5th Nov 05, organized Cateract surgery for- Mr. Govindarajan, IDPL Colony, Nandambakkam, Chennai Project No: 20 Date: 17-9-2006 Mega Health Camp The camp was inaugurated by Shri Krishnaswamy, Congress Leader at Annai Anadha Illam School, Pudhur bustand, Ambattur OT, Chennai. The events covered were – (i) Sight first & Cateract: Udhi Eye Hospital, Chennai, a team of 8 persons screened over 200 persons, and 31 persons were shortlisted for cateract surgery. The surgery was carried out in 3 batches. (ii) Dental: Ragaas Dental team carried out screening for over 175 patients, benefits, like cleaning, filling, extraction etc. Some of the patients, who need major treatment were requested to visit their hospital by an appointment. (iii) ChildCare: Dr. Sathish, Ambattur screened over 150 children (iv) Dr. Vinod & team, General Physicians screened over 400 patients, including Chikun Guniya.. Medicines organized worth Rs. 2 lacs. Majority of the medicines were supplied by Nicholas Pharma and Orchid Pharmaceuticals. A group of nursing volunteers helped the pharmacy and attended to doctors needs. General volunteers were many, who offered support to carry out the camp successfully.
Project No: 21 Venue: Punitha Thomayar Primary School, Anna Road, Ullagaram, Chenai 91 Date: 10th Dec 06 Time: 9 am – 2.30 pm Events covered: 1. Blood Donation - Total 26 units collected by Lions Blood Bank 2. Eye Screening & Cateract – Aravind Sai Eye Hospital. 8 persons were admitted for cateract, and over 250 persons were screened for eye defects. Spectacles supplied to the needy. 3. Dental Screening by Raagas Dental Hospital, who screened over 250 patients. All dental ailments were treated including surgery. 4. Chikunguniya both Allopathy & Homeopathy – a Group of doctors carried out this event. 5. General HealthCare – A group of General doctors carried out this. 6. ChildCare – Dr.Mrs Vijayalakshmi from LC of Velachery carried out this. 7. Accupuncture –Dr.CK Raju performed this event. Free medicines were supplied as per Eye Doctor prescriptions. Dr. Kavitha from Meenakshi Nursing College brought a team of 15 nursing assistants, who provided support to each event. Lions Club Vice Governor Ln Govindasamy Thangaraj inaugurated the camp in presence of Harmony President, Ln Gopinath and other VEEDS volunteers and general public. Around ONE thousand patients got the benefits from this camp. Project No: 22 DATE: 26 JAN 2007 VENUE: Our ady of Velankanni School, Villivakkam Events covered: 1. Blood Donation – over 50 units of blood collected by Lions Blood Bank, Chennai. 2. Eye Screening and Cateract – Organised thru Aravind Sai Eye Hospital, Pammal, Chennai. Shortlisted patients were offered cateract surgery and free specs offered to the needy. 3. Dental screening is organized thru Raagas Dental Hospital 4. Project 1 Date of the project: April 2002 Venue: Shakthi Nagar, Porur, Chennai Beneficiaries: Shakthi Nagar residents The Forest Department of Tamil Nadu has granted us over 100 saplings. Part of the Saplings are planted in Shakthi Nagar area with proper tree-guards etc. The function was inaugurated by Shri Arunachalam, Porur Town Panchayath President in presence of the local residential association diginitories. Sponsorship: Tree guards were sponsored by Mr. Sivadasan Pillai
The event was organized in association with local residential association President Br. Thiruvengadam. Manapakkam Panchayath President Mr. Pandian inaugurated the event, in presence of Mr. Kamaraj, Councillor.

Date of the project: Aug 2007 Venue: St.Patirarch Church, Villivakkam, Chennai Organised an Awareness program on HIV/AIDS in association with Lions Club of Golden Fort. Disctrict Governor PMJF Ln. Govindasamy Thangaraj inaugurated the function in the presence of other Lions members both from the District and Club. Prof. Sethuraman and team presented the program with a visual media. Once the presentation was over, the forum made open for interactive session and also Questions and Answers. At the end, we have screened a Tele-film “Nalam thaanaa..”The entire program went upto around 3.6 hours. Project 2
Date of the project: DEC 2007 Venue: Cariappa Sr.Sec School, Dasarathapuram, Chennai Organised HIV/AIDS awanreness program for the benefit of High School Children in the above school in association with Lions Club of Saligramam. Vice District Governor PMJF Ln. Raja Mahendran inaugurated the event, in the presence of other District and club delegates Prof. Sethuraman and team presented the program with a visual media. Once the presentation was over, the forum made open for interactive session and also Questions and Answers. The entire program went upto around 3hours. |
